KZT 3.2 bln budgeted for Youth Practice program in 2009

ASTANA. January 28. KAZINFORM /Dimash Syzdykov/ "KZT 3.2 bln was allocated from the republican budget in 2009 within the "Youth Practice" project", Kazakh Vice Minister of Labor and Social protection Assel Nusupova has said today at the session of the Council on youth Affairs under the Kazakh Government.

According to her, one of the main problems of our youth is provision of stable employment. The unemployment rate was up to 7.2% in the second half of 2009. In this regard KZT 3.2 bln was allocated from the republican budget for creation of permanent jobs for graduates of universities and colleges to provide them with an opportunity to gain primary experience.

Agreement with over 12,788 enterprises and organizations were signed within the frameworks of extension of the youth practice program. Over 51 thousand graduates were sent for employment to these jobs and over 9 thousand out of them got permanent jobs.

These measures had positive effect. The realization of "Youth Practice" program together with other measures on employment allowed to reduce the unemployment rate among young people to 5.9% in the third quarter of 2009.
