Kyrgyzstan’s economy posts 11% growth
Kyrgyzstan's economy grew 11.1% in seven months of 2026, Qazinform News Agency cites Kabar.
According to the latest analytical data from the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), Kyrgyzstan's GDP rose by 11.1% in the first seven months of 2026. Analysts believe that despite a challenging external environment, including rising energy prices, the economy is resilient enough to maintain the upward trend in gross domestic product.
In this context, it is worth mentioning government measures to curb rising oil prices. The country exports over 90% of its consumption. By subsidizing suppliers, the government covers the difference between purchase prices and the cost of fuel at Kyrgyz gas stations. The difference per liter of fuel, depending on the brand, ranges from 25 to 37 soms. This represents a significant sum nationwide. However, the authorities are supporting the population and businesses to curb inflation, as a precipitous rise in consumer prices could cause much more serious damage to the country.
As experts note, Kyrgyzstan's overall economic situation is stable and predictable. The Cabinet is managing external pressure, allowing the main drivers - the construction sector, the growing manufacturing industry, and trade to maintain stability and positive momentum.
EDB analysts project Kyrgyzstan's GDP growth to exceed 10% by the end of 2026.
As Qazinform reported earlier, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Zhaparov, congratulated the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and the brotherly Kazakh people on the successful elections to the Qurultay.
