Kyrgyzstan sends helicopter to search for missing people in mountains

A helicopter has been sent to search for six Kyrgyzstanis missing in the Ak-Sai mountains located in Chatkal region of Jalal-Abad Oblast, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan said Friday, Kabar reported.
On Oct. 9, 14 people, including local residents and one Chinese citizen, went to the mountains in search of roots of a rare plant and since then have not been in touch.
As a result of search operations on Oct.16, eight people were found, all of them alive and well, but it was reported that the remaining six people may have fallen under a snow avalanche.
20 rescuers are involved in the search operation, the necessary equipment is used.
