Kyrgyzstan opens border checkpoints on Kyrgyz-Tajik border
BISHKEK. KAZINFORM - Kyrgyzstan opens all five border crossing points, which were closed unilaterally by Kyrgyz side after January 11 incident, on the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border, Tajiik media reported today.
The process of opening the border crossing points will last for two days, two of the border crossing points are already open, AKI Press informs.
Kyrgyzstan closed the border crossing points with Tajikistan after an armed incident at the border on January 11. Since that time, the parties held negotiations on non-delimited sections of the joint border.
As expected, the Kyrgyz side will send a corresponding note about official opening of the border crossing points to the Tajik Foreign Ministry today.
Chairman of the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan Rayimberdi Duyshenbiyev also said that number of border crossing points were opened today at the request of Tajikistan, he said today as part of his working visit to Batken region.
While, pass for nationals of third countries through the international border crossing points is carried out without restrictions.
