Kyrgyzstan increases the export of electricity to Kazakhstan

ASTANA. July 25. KAZINFORM Kyrgyzstan increases the export of electricity to Kazakhstan by 500 million kilowatt-hours, The Ministry of Energy KR reported 24.kg news agency. Kazinform refers to Trend News.

Reportedly, the volume is increased due to irrigational purposes of the neighboring republic and possibility of Kyrgyzstan to export more energy. "From the beginning of 2011 we were exporting a billion kilowatt-hours. Then we signed an agreement to export 550 million kilowatt for the growing season. Now we are preparing an agreement on additional leave of 500 million kilowatt-hours. The total volume of exported energy will be increased to 2 billion kilowatt," explained in the Ministry of Energy.

As noted, Kazakhstan pays for the provided energy opportunely at a price of 2.8 cents per kW / h.

Recall, the volume of water in Toktogul reservoir come nearer to the designed mark - 19.5 billion cubic meters. To avoid idle water discharge, Public corporation "Electric Power Stations" has decided to increase electricity exports. Kazinform cites Trend News. See www.en.trend.az
