Kyrgyzstan eliminates mistakes made by former authorities
BISHKEK. KAZINFORM In his interview with Kazakhstani mass media focusing on priority spheres of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev highlighted the great potential of the country for attracting Kazakhstani investments.
"Currently, Kazakhstan ranks third in terms of sales. Kazakhstan's investors forwarded more than USD 1 bln into Kyrgyz economy," he said. Atambayev drew attention to the measures taken by the Government aimed at creating a favorable investment climate and minimizing economic risks for foreign investors. "We also took measures to eliminate mistakes made by the former authorities when raiders illegally seized the bank belonging to Kazakh investors. We have returned the bank to the investors since we proved the fact of illegal takeover. We hope now to embark on a new level of cooperation," Atambayev said expressing his aspiration for mutual beneficial economic integration.
