Kyrgyzstan and Turkiye discuss extension of visa-free regime for citizens

Bilateral Kyrgyz-Turkish political consultations were held in Bishkek on October 18, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

According to Kabar, the delegation of Kyrgyzstan was headed by Director of the Third Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Askhat Ryskulov. The delegation of the Republic of Turkiye was headed by Director General for Central Asian Countries and the United Territories of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Gokhan Turan.

During the political consultations, a wide range of topical issues of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade and economic, military-technical, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed, as well as issues of interaction within the framework of international and regional organizations, as well as coordination of joint actions at multilateral venues.

The parties also considered the upcoming events and meetings at the highest and high levels.

The issues of developing and deepening bilateral trade and economic relations, increasing mutual trade turnover between the countries, including by attracting Turkish investments to Kyrgyzstan, were discussed in detail. The issues of mutual trips of citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Turkiye, simplifying the conditions of stay and extending the validity of the visa-free regime for citizens of the two countries were also discussed.
