Kyrgyz Kickboxing fighter Ruslan Abasov dies in car explosion
TOKMOK. KAZINFORM - Car explosion killed kickboxing fighter Ruslan Abasov on March 27. Law enforcement agencies of Kyrgyzstan continue investigation of the incident in Tokmok (Chui region).
The incident occurred at around 6.00 pm. According to preliminary data, an explosive device could have been put under the driver's seat as it was heavily damaged. When checking the car, bomb technicians of the Defense Ministry found no other explosive devices.
At the moment of the explosion, the sportsman's wife was in the car as well.
Eyewitnesses removed both victims from the car and sent them to a local hospital via taxi, Kazinform has learnt from AKI Press.
Abasov died on the way to the hospital from blood loss. His wife received various injuries.
Ruslan Abasov aka Hermes was the first world kickboxing champion among professionals. He also was two-time world champion (World Association of Kickboxing Organizations, WAKO), intercontinental champion (WAKO-PRO), two-time European champion (WAKO) won in the 2000s.
