Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry urges Tajikistan to refrain from hasty statements, judgments of Kyrgyz-Tajik border incident of July 10
BISHKEK. KAZINFORM - Askar Beshimov The Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan has called upon the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan to refrain from hasty statements and judgments of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border incident of July 10 on the Tamdyk border post. Such statement was made by Kyrgyz Deputy Foreign Minister Askar Beshimov at the briefing on July 11 in Bishkek.
"The negotiation process of governmental delegations at the level of the Vice Prime Ministers started on July 10, the process was planned before and the incident occurred by that time. The first conflict between border guards of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan occurred at 11.30 am, the second - skirmish - took place at around 3.00 pm, AKI Press reported. At that time the talks between the governmental delegations started. At 5.00 pm we received the note of Tajikistan having no facts at all. The Tajik side offers its own interpretation of the incident. We are puzzled. The hasty reaction is either aimed to render pressure on the process of talks or this is demonstration of lack of coordination of actions between government agencies of Tajikistan," Deputy Foreign Minister Beshimov said.
Since the note was received from Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan had to sent a note in response outlining the position of the country, Deputy Minister Beshimov added.
"The Foreign Ministry had to send a note in reply to the Tajik side, which reflects the position of Kyrgyzstan. The note has been agreed on between all involved agencies and in the given note we ask Tajikistan to refrain from any judgments until completion of talks," he said.
"We are aimed at peaceful regulation of the situation and hope the solution will be found primarily in the interest of people living in that area," the Deputy Foreign Minister concluded.
