Kostanai region plans to produce 10 000 cars in 2014

Astana. December 19. KAZINFORM - According to Arman Aliyev, chairman of board of SEC Tobol, 10 000 vehicles are slated for output in the region next year.

At a press conference of the region's governor at Astana's Central Communications Service, Aliyev shared on plans for the development of the machine engineering sector in the region. He reminded that JSC AgromashHolding was the first to start producing SsangYong Kyron, SsangYong Actyon in Kazakhstan. In 2010, a joint venture LLP Saryarka AvtoProm was set up with the participation of SEC Tobol and the group pf companies Allur Auto. The KZT 2,3 billion allocated from the state budget for the development of the project went for the upgrade of the equipment and creation of necessary infrastructure - finished product warehouses, container yard, three rail access tracks.

Further investment worth KZT 11 billion has been used for the production of SsangYong Nomad, including welding and painting, the former will be made by robots and the assembly will be manual.

Currently, the company makes Peugeot and the output of Toyota Fortuner is slated for 2014. Aliyev said that they planned the start of production for the end of the first quarter and the estimated number of cars was 3 000 for the next year.

According to him, SaryarkaAvtoProm has signed a deal with Iveco company for the production of cargo vehicles Iveco, the company's estimated capacity is 25 000 vehicles a year. "This year, we have assembled at least 7 000 vehicles in total. Next year, we are set to increase the figure to 10 000. We are now busy with merging SaryarkaAvtoProm and AgromashHolding in one concern", - A.Aliyev underlined.

He also added that the prices would be quite acceptable for the middle class and the produce would be in demand both in Kazakhstan and in near-abroad countries, especially in the CIS and Customs Union.
