The ceremony was attended by the Governor of Zhambyl region Karim Kokrekbayev who noted that the problem of power supply in Zhambyl region remains relevant. About 70 percent of electric power is purchased from the neighboring Kyrgyzstan. The new wind farm will partially solve the problem of power shortage and reduce the region's dependence on energy imports. First phase of Kordai wind power plant with the capacity of 4 MW was launched in 2013. Today the plant has launched 9 more wind turbines which expanded the farm's capacity to 9 MW per year. 13 people got permanent jobs. The project cost, which included in FIID program, amounted to 6,4 billion tenge. It is expected that the company will recompense the investment in 10 years.
