Kokshetau Airport launches int'l flight «Kokshetau-Moscow» to mark Independence Day of Kazakhstan
ASTANA. December 14. KAZINFORM - International Airport of Kokshetau has conducted the first international flight direction "Kokshetau-Moscow" of "Transaero" airline.
This event is the result of the town's airport transfer in trust subsidiary of "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy'' NC"- ''KTZ Express'' JSC, reported by the press service of "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy'' NC" JSC.
On May 8, 2013 the regional airport came into trust management of the logical transport company ''KTZ Expres'' which in conjunction with the Civil Aviation Committee has worked to accelerate the state acceptance of the airport after the reconstruction and assigning it the international status.
As a result on October 19, 2013 the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan decided to grant the Kokshetau airport international status.
Along with the renovation of the air harbor there were held negotiations with "Transaero" management on the possibility of carrying out international routes.
As a result it was agreed to start regular flight "Коkshetau-Моscow/Моscow-Коkshetau". The first flight was timed to the national holiday - the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The flight will use Boeing 737-700 aircraft. The flight, with the duration of 2 hours 30 minutes, will land at Vnukovo airport in the city of Moscow.
The project is very important in improving population mobility of Kokshetau and Akmola region. It will also increase the airport revenues and the budget of the region.
During the next year KTZ Express and Kokshetau International Airport plan to launch international flights to Omsk (Russia), Antalya (Turkey) and then gradually expand its route network within the country and abroad.
