Keyki batyr participated in the Torgay rebellion in 1916 and was distinguished in many battles. He never accepted the Soviet power. Being a courageous and clever person he spoke his mind openly which made the authority dislike him. After the death of Amangeldy on May 18 , 1919 and the death of Abdigapar Khan  Keyki Batyr was impelled to leave for Ulytau and Kyzylkumy. April 22, 1923 he was killed.

For a long time it was forbidden to speak about Keyki Batyr. Later a lot of books, poems and documentaries were created about his feats. A bust monument was established in Arkalyk in honor of his 125th anniversary.
