«Kazinform» celebrates 93d anniversary!
ASTANA. August 13. KAZINFORM - In 1920, 93 years ago, there was founded first Kazakhstan's news agency, which traditions are being continued by “Kazinform” informational agency.
In 1920, there was established the Orenburg-Turgay department of the Russian Telegraph Agency (ROSTA), which from 1925 had become known as KazROSTA. Then it was transferred to the jurisdiction of the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR and changed the name to KazTAG. The state news agency existed from 1937 until 1997. According to the decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan from September 10, 1997 the agency was reorganized to KazAAG.
Since 2008, according to the decision of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan from July 3, 2008, # 668, "Kazakh news agency "National Company" JSC has become a part of "Arna Media" National Information Holding". Since August 2012 "Kazinform" Informational agency was included in "Kazakhstan" RTRC JSC.
In January 2005, Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan, visited "Kazinform" and congratulated its veterans and employees with the 85th anniversary of the agency. The President took a view of the photo exhibition themed "KazTAG - 85 years: annals of history" and got acquainted with the work of creative and technical services of the company.
In 2004, the agency first offered its users a new version of news translation from the Kazakh language to the Latin alphabet implementing the method of academician Abduali Khaidarov.
Since 2009, Kazinform has launched the first version of the Kazakh language web-site based on the Arabic script for compatriots living in China and Mongolia.
Today the agency holds a leading position in the ranking of 527 news web-sites operating on the territory of the CIS.
Kazinform is a member of the international association of news agencies OANA (Organization of News Agencies in Asia and the Pacific), a member of the Association of National News Agencies of member-states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (ANIA), a member of the news agencies of Turkic-speaking countries (TCA), a member of an international organization for the joint development of culture and art TURKSOI.
Kazinform is a partner of the world's major news agencies as ITAR-TASS, Xinhua (China), RIA "Novosti", KABAR, BelTA, UkrInform, BTA (Bulgaria), Yonhap (South Korea), Azertadzh (Azerbaijan), "Novosti-Moldova "and many others.
The central office is located in Astana. Kazinform Almaty branch is represented by experienced journalists, quickly covering the life of a major metropolis, financial and cultural center of the country.
