KazakhstanTemirZholy to facilitate Deutsche Bahn's participation in developing Khorgos-Eastern Gate
ASTANA. February 10. KAZINFORM. During the official visit of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev to Germany, Chief Executive of JSC "National Company "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" (KTZ) Askar Mamin met with Member of the Board of Management for Logistics at Deutsche Bahn Karl-Friedrich Rausch, according to the press service of KTZ.
The sides discussed different issues in the sphere of transport logistics and expressed intention to activate cooperation in three directions. With the purpose of successful development of Asia - Europe route the sides will render support in operating of a regular container train "New Silk Road" en route Chuncin- Duisburg. KTZ and DB will make more efforts on protection of freights, real-time control over transportation, developing competitive tariff rates, raising speed and cargo delivery period, removal of physical and non physical barriers at cross-border points. DB will assist KTZ in developing the transport and logistics hub of Special Economic Zone "Khorgos-Eastern Gate" through realization of investment projects, consultation services, developing joint transport and logistics projects.
In turn KTZ will create optimal conditions for DB's participation in developing "Khorgos-Eastern Gate" SEZ through the provision of tax and customs preferences, territory for building logistics terminals at "Khorgos-Eastern Gate".
Also the parties agreed to consider the possibility of training Kazak specialists in the sphere of logistics at the German universities. Besides KTZ also had meetings with the representatives of German business community: InterRailHoldingAG Х, Kuehne - Nagel, DBMobilityLogistics and SiemensAG.
