The Ust-Kamenogorsk Titanium and Magnesium Plant is one of the world’s largest vertically integrated titanium producers with the full production cycle ranging from extraction of raw materials to finished-product output.

Last year, the plant produced around 12,000 tons of titanium, worth approximately 87 billion tenge. Its output of ingots and alloys is expected to grow by 7% in 2026.

Titanium products are used in aerospace, petrochemicals, nuclear energy, medicine, and shipbuilding.

The share of Kazakhstan’s titanium accounts for 20% of the global aerospace market. It supplies the world’s leading producers, including Boeing, Airbus, Safran, Rolls-Royce, TIMET, Howmet Aerospace, Dynamet, PCC, POSCO, and other major corporations.

Special attention was given to the plant’s investment program until 2030. It includes 25 projects worth 255.5 billion tenge. Among them are the construction of a new sponge titanium plant with an annual capacity of 10,000 tons, modernization of gas-cleaning equipment, introduction of a unified MES industrial system, and launching of an AI-powered analytics platform for production data, energy use, and safety.

Olzhas Bektenov emphasized the plant’s development aligns with the tasks set by the Head of State to strengthen manufacturing, produce high-value industrial goods, and integrate Kazakhstan into global supply chains.

It was earlier reported, Kazakhstan to invest around $470mn in geological exploration in 2026-2028.
