Kazakhstan’s Smetov leaves Paris Judo Grand Slam 2024 without a medal

One of the most decorated judokas in Kazakhstan Yeldos Smetov failed to claim a medal at the Paris Judo Grand Slam 2024 which kicked off in the French capital today, Kazinform News Agency reports.

In his second bout of the tournament Smetov faced two-time world champion South Korean Lee Harim and lost in the -60kg weight class event.

It bears to remind that the Kazakhstani defeated Egyptian Adel Hamada at the start of the tournament.

Athletes in the weight categories of 60 to 66 kg represent Kazakhstan at the three-day tournament in Paris which has brought together over 620 competitors from 107 nations.
