Kazakhstan’s Shevchenko to vie for spot in Rio Open 2025 quarterfinals

Alexander Shevchenko of Kazakhstan cruised into the second round of the ATP Rio Open 2025 in Brazil, Kazinform News Agency has learned from Olympic.kz.
In the opening round, Shevchenko defeated world No.149 of Brazil Felipe Meligeni Alves with a score of 6-4, 6-2.
The match lasted one hour and twenty-four minutes. Shevchenko served 10 aces, made one double fault, and converted five out of 13 break points.
In the second round, the Kazakhstani tennis player will clash with the winner of Germany’s Alexander Zverev and China’s Zhang Zhizhen match.
As reported earlier, Kazakhstan's Zhukayev has won his first ATP Challenger doubles title.
