Kazakhstan’s rich history takes center stage at Beijing photo exhibition
A photo exhibition showcasing Kazakhstan’s historical and cultural heritage has opened at the Kazakhstan Cultural Center in Beijing, Qazinform News Agency reports.
Titled “Through the Centuries: Images of Kazakhstan’s History,” the exhibition features photographs depicting different periods of the country’s history, national traditions and archaeological heritage.
The opening ceremony was attended by Kuanysh Amantay, Counsellor of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in China, and Yersin Zhainakov, Academic Secretary of the National Central Museum of Kazakhstan.
“Today’s exhibition features photographs reflecting the history and everyday life of Kazakh people, made from original images held in Russian museums during a special expedition,” Zhainakov said.
He added that some of the old photographs were restored using artificial intelligence because of their poor condition.
The exhibition aims to introduce Chinese audiences to Kazakhstan’s rich historical and cultural heritage through photography and promote the country’s history and national values internationally, the organizers said.
The project was organized by the National Central Museum of Kazakhstan, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in China and the Kazakhstan Cultural Center in Beijing.
The exhibition is being held as part of the Cross Year of Culture between Kazakhstan and China and will run from August 22 to 29.
Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that a roundtable titled “Water: Sustainable Development and Water Initiatives” was held at the Kazakhstan Cultural Center in Beijing, bringing together leading experts and officials from Kazakhstan and China.
