Kazakhstan's Gabit Rassulkhan wins gold at World Cadet Judo Championships
Kazakhstan's Gabit Rassulkhan won gold at the Judo World Championships Cadets Guayaquil 2026 in Ecuador, Qazinform News Agency cites the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Kazakh team collected five medals on the opening day of the championships, led by Rassulkhan's gold in the men's −60 kg event. He secured the world title after defeating Canada's Roman Semyrozum in the final.
Adilzhan Nurbeken took silver in the men's −50 kg event, while Adiya Zhanakhmet finished runner-up in the women's −40 kg division. Bekarys Kudaibergen (−50 kg) and Akhmet Baubek (−60 kg) rounded out Kazakhstan's medal haul with two bronze medals.
Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that Elena Rybakina had withdrawn from the Cincinnati Open quarterfinal due to injury.
