Kazakhstanis support integration with EEU - expert
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Half of Kazakhstani citizens are pro integration within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), Head of Economic Research Department of the Eurasian Integration Institute Vladimir Telnov made such a statement during a video conference Moscow-Astana themed Scenarios of the Eurasian space future: economy, security, humanitarian sphere".
"Opinion poll conducted by the institute revealed that 51.6% of Kazakhstan's population support integration within the EEU. 21.4% of respondents believe that integration with China is more prospective. And 18.4% are for integration with the EU," Telnov elaborated. In his words, Kazakhstan should not forget about cooperation with other partner countries. "Integration with the Eurasian Economic Union is our short-term goal, but we shouldn't forget about potential cooperation with other nations. We need to step up cooperation with China, the EU countries and look for potential areas of cooperation with these states," the expert concluded.
