Kazakhstani Yulia Putintseva propels to 2nd round at 2024 Wuhan Open

World No. 35 Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan defeated Donna Vekic at the ongoing Dongfeng Voyah Wuhan Open in China, Kazinform News Agency has learned from the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation.
The Kazakh tennis player beat world No. 15 Donna Vekic of Croatia in the second round with a score of 6:4, 3:6, 6:4.
Yulia Putintseva will face Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka (ranked 2nd) in the third round.
As reported earlier, the Women's Tennis Association had presented an updated list of athletes’ singles and doubles rankings. Yulia Putintseva dropped three spots securing 35th line in the WTA Singles Rankings.
The 2024 Wuhan Open played on outdoor hard courts is set to run between October 7-12.
