Kazakhstani, Saudi Arabian parliamentary ties to flourish

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Senate Speaker of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev has met today with Chairman of the Consultative Assembly of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdullah ibn Muhammad Al ash-Sheikh in Astana, the Senate's press service informs.

Mr. Tokayev stressed that Kazakhstan considers Saudi Arabia as its important political and economic partner in the Middle East region and is interested in developing dialogue in all spheres. In his words, the upcoming state visit of President Nursultan Nazarbayev to Saudi Arabia this year will undoubtedly contribute to a better cooperation between the nations in all fields. The sides spoke in favor of further development of contacts between the Kazakhstani and Saudi Arabian parliamentarians on bilateral basis as well as within inter-parliamentary organizations. Abdullah Al ash-Sheikh invited the Kazakh Senate Speaker to pay an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. K. Tokayev, in turn, thanked King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia for constant support of the CICA and the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. In conclusion, he invited Abdullah Al ash-Sheikh to attend the forthcoming Religious Leaders Congress in Astana in June 2015.
