Kazakhstani officers to help Afghanistan prepare for peaceful life - MFA
ASTANA. May 27. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Kazakhstani officers in Kabul will assist to the Afghan Government and people in preparation for a peaceful life, Minister of Foreign Affairs Yerzhan Kazykhanov has said during a visiting session of the Majilis Committee on International Affairs, Defense and Security in the Ministry today.
Y. Kazykhanov familiarized the deputies with the results of the Ministry's work and achievements in foreign policy activity. Among these achievements, as the Minister pointed out, is Kazakhstan's successful chairmanship in the OSCE, the Astana Summit of the Organization, the current chairmanship in the SCO and the forthcoming one - in the OIC.
As for the issue of sending the Kazakh militaries to Afghanistan, Y. Kazykhanov said: "We would like to note that in accordance with the UN Security Council Resolution, the point at issue is sending four officers only to Kabul. The main task for them will be rendering assistance to the Afghan Government and local people in their preparation for peaceful life".
According to him, the work of Kazakhstani officers will fully comply with the mandate of the UN Security Council.
