Kazakhstani hauls bronze at Asian Fencing Championships in Abu Dhabi

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstani saber fencer Elizaveta Smirnova has won bronze at the 2015 Asian Junior & Cadet Fencing Championships in Abu Dhabi, Kazinform has learnt from Vesti.kz.
This is the first medal for Team Kazakhstan that is represented by 60 athletes at the event. Kazakhstani Valeriya Galyanova was close to clinching fencing bronze but was outclassed by a Japanese athlete in the quarterfinals. The event that has brought together athletes from more than 20 countries will run until March 9. It is worth mentioning that young Kazakhstani saber fencers hauled 3 gold medals at the Asian Championships in October 2014.
