Kazakhstani and Hungarian MPs vow to strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation
ASTANA. October 24. KAZINFORM Today, Deputy Chairman of the Kazakh Senate Askar Beisenbayev has met with Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary László Kövér in Astana, the chamber's press service informs.
The main goal of the meeting was to strengthen the inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries and discuss the problems of lawmaking.
Mr. Beisenbayev briefed the guest on the lawmaking activities and structure of the Kazakh Parliament and noted that Kazakhstani MPs are keen to develop multilateral contacts with their Hungarian colleagues within the parliamentary assemblies of the OSCE, the Council of Europe and NATO.
The Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary spoke in favor of activation of the cooperation between the parliamentarians, having noted Kazakhstan and Hungary already have a solid basis for further expansion of partner ties.
The Deputy Chairman of the Kazakh Senate stressed that MPs can influence the social and political climate within a country as well as international processes in general and asked his Hungarian colleague to support Kazakhstan's bid to take a temporary seat on the UN Security Council in 2017-2018.
The sides also discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation in the spheres of economy and culture.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Hungary Nurbakh Rustemov, senators Serik Akylbai, Svetlana Dzhalmagambetova and Vladimir Bobrov and majilisman Andrey Begeneyev attended the meeting as well.
