Kazakhstan will create five clusters of historical & cultural tourism
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Committee of Tourism Industry of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan has identified five clusters of historical and cultural tourism in Kazakhstan, the press service of the Ministry informs.
According to the draft Concept of tourism development in Kazakhstan, a cluster of "Astana" includes monuments of history, culture and nature of the State National Natural Park (SNNP) of "Burabai", "Kokshetau", "Buiratau", "Karkaraly", "Bayanaul"; mounds with shaded stones of Tasmolinsk culture; tombs of Begazy-Dandybay culture and objects included in the serial transnational nomination "Silk Road" (Bozok ancient settlement).
"Almaty" cluster includes Archaeological Landscape of Tamgaly petroglyphs (UNESCO object); SNNP "Altyn-Emel" included in the provisional list of UNESCO; Charyn Canyon; Kapchagay reservoir; ski area near the city of Almaty with the Ile-Alatau SNNP; tourism center "Jana Ile", Eshkiolmes petroglyphs which are included in the provisional list of UNESCO as well as the Issyk burial mounds and objects included in the serial transnational nomination "Silk Road" (Talgar ancient settlement, Boralday Saki mounds).
"East Kazakhstan" cluster includes Bukhtarma water reservoir; Irtysh River - Lake Zhaisan; Caton - Karagaysky SNNP; Lake Markakol and Kalzhirsky canyon; Ridder - Anatai and Ivanovo mountains, the city of Semey.
"South Kazakhstan" cluster will be presented by the following objects: Turkestan mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yassaui (UNESCO object); archaeological sites and medieval ancient town Otrar and Otrar oasis included in the provisional list of UNESCO, Sauran archaeological complex; Karatausky State Natural Reserve with Paleolithic sites and geomorphology; petroglyphs of Arpa-Uzen included in the provisional list of UNESCO; Aksu Zhabagly nature reserve included in the provisional list of UNESCO; Sairam-Ugamsky State National park; Baikonur spaceport; the cities of Kyzylorda, Saryagash and Taraz.
"West Kazakhstan" cluster includes underground mosques of Becket- Ata, Ata Shopan and Karaman -Ata, Omar and Tour Mausoleum; necropolis of Mangishlak Peninsula; complex of monuments "Bukey Horde"; Sherkala mountain; Karagiye-Karakol conservation area; Usturtsky State Nature Reserve and "Kenderli" resort.
Note: The draft Concept of tourism development in Kazakhstan was presented in Madrid at «FITUR» exhibition and was approved by the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization Taleb Rifai.
