Kazakhstan vows to join world's top 30 in telecommunications readiness by 2020

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan intends to join the world's top 30 in telecommunications readiness by 2020, according to Vice Minister for Investments and Development Askar Zhumagaliyev.
"70% of Kazakhstani population are active Internet users. Basically, all schools are provided with Internet access. Moreover, Kazakhstan is currently ranked 38th in the Telecommunications Readiness Index," A. Zhumagaliyev said at the Tuesday session of Majilis, lower chamber of the Kazakh Parliament. "Hopefully, we will join the world's top 30 in terms of development of telecommunications readiness by 2020," the Vice Minister added.
