Kazakhstan upgrades education system
ASTANA. September 23. KAZINFORM Upgrade of the education system of Kazakhstan is one of the key factors of modernization process. The President of the country emphasized it in his article "Social Modernization of Kazakhstan: 20 Steps towards Society of Universal Labor". New tasks are set before the education system of the country now. The basis for formation of an integral Kazakhstani model of innovative education was formed.
The main directions of the education process modernization are improvement of the education quality guaranteeing an essential increase of the competitiveness and intellectual potential of every citizen as well as synchronization of the education sector development with economic and social development, the Ministry of Education and Science reports.
These priorities are outlined in the State Program of Education Development as well as in the President's instructions given in his article "Social Modernization of Kazakhstan: 20 Steps towards Society of Universal Labor".
As the Ministry reports, presently, there are about 4.4 million students, 441.8 thousand teachers, 124 thousand technical personnel in the country. Thanks to state support, the education financing increased more than 1.6 times over the last two years.
New tasks meeting the international standards of education are set before the education system of the country. These are integration, internationalization, multilingual education, mobility of students, teachers, knowledge and innovations, lifelong learning, informatization and e-learning development, synthesis of science, education and innovations.
According to the Ministry of Education, more than 40 principal innovations have been introduced in scientific and education sphere over the recent two years. Establishment of the single vertical of centralized control over the education quality, introduction of a new model of multilingual education are among them.
Besides, per capita education financing was introduced in pre-school education and it is expected to embrace secondary, technical and vocation education in future. Moreover, new mechanisms of cooperation with society and employers including 38 large-scale innovations are being developed.
Altogether these innovations form principally new opportunities and prospects for development of the national education system of the country, the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science reports.
