Kazakhstan to take part in “OSCE and CIS: New Opportunities and Prospects” conference

ST.PETERCBURG. October 20. KAZINFORM /Yelena Myagkova/ Chairman of the Russian Federation Council, Chairman of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States Sergey Smirnov will hold the international parliamentary conference titled "Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and CIS: New Opportunities and Prospects" on October 28 in St. Petersburg.

As the press service of the upper chamber of the Russian Parliament reports, a plenary session of the conference devoted to the Kazakhstan's OSCE chairmanship will be held that day in the Duma hall of the Assembly. Chairman of the Federation Council Sergey Smirnov will open the session and read welcome addresses of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. Chairman of the Majilis of the Kazakh Parliament Ural Mukhamedzhanov is expected to deliver a keynote speech.

Representatives of the OSCE, delegations of the CIS member states, members of the Federation Council, deputies of the State Duma, heads of executive and legislative authorities of the federal and regional government, scientific and public international organizations will take part in the conference.
