Kazakhstan to supply over 2,000 tons of uranium to India till 2014

ASTANA. April 16. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ Kazakhstan will supply more than 2,000 tons of uranium to India until 2014. Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said it at a press conference after the negotiations with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in Astana on Saturday.

"We have signed an agreement on cooperation in peaceful uses of nuclear energy. India is planning a fivefold increase in electricity generation in nuclear power plants, and the supply of more than two thousand tons of uranium till 2014 and the subsequent agreement on its processing is very important to us," Nazarbayev noted.
