Kazakhstan to submit National Report on country's gender policy to UN

ASTANA. April 26. KAZINFORM /Askar Bimendin/ The National Commission on Women, Affairs, Family and Demographic Policy under the Kazakh President has held today its regular session to discuss the Draft combined third and fourth National report on implementation of the Convention on Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women.

Presenting the document Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Kazakhstan, Chairperson of the Commission Gulshara Abdykalikova said that once in four years the UN hears the periodical reports of all member countries of the Organization. The previous report of Kazakhstan was submitted in 2007.

"This report must be submitted to the UN in September. All preparatory works in this direction have been completed. We have established a working group; all items were reviewed together with all interested state bodies. Currently we are working on recommendations", G. Abdykalikova noted.

The document contains the results of Kazakhstan's gender policy conducted in 2004-2010, the Minister added.
