Kazakhstan to reduce customs duties on import of foreign cars after WTO accessio
ASTANA. January 13. KAZINFORM Upon accession to WTO, customs duties on the import of foreign cars will be decreased, Kazakh Vice Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Timur Zhaksylykov told a briefing in the Central Communications Service.
"The current customs duty rate for cars is 30%," he said.
According to him, a significant reduction will occur three years after accession to the WTO. Entry into the WTO will significantly ease the conditions of access of Kazakh goods to the markets of member countries of the organization. Now it is needed to discuss issues related to tariff harmonization and local content, information on the primeminister.kz reads.
"These issues are also close to completion, we have an understanding with our negotiators how to address them. This concerns, first of all, the fact that discriminatory conditions in trade will not be applied on us. This also applies to the conditions of transit of our products in these states," he concluded.
