Kazakhstan to put into operation 6.8 million square meters of housing by yearend
ASTANA. October 22. KAZINFORM Today, Kazakh Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov has held a Government telephone conference to discuss the implementation of "Affordable Housing 2020" Program, Kazinform refers to primeminister.kz.
Akhmetov emphasized the importance of the program and noted that one of the key tasks of social modernization, which is under the President's special control, was to provide population with quality and available housing.
First Deputy Minister of Regional Development Kairbek Uskenbayev informed of the program implementation results for nine months of 2013. Speeding up of housing construction will enable to put into operation 6.8 million square meters this year.
According to Uskenbayev, "in the total volume of housing more than 59% or 2.7 million square meters account for individual housing. This is by 12% more than at the same period last year."
In general, state owned enterprises and organizations commissioned 525 thousand square meters of housing for nine months.
285 thousand square meters of rental housing or 4,000 apartments will be built this year.
Describing the situation in the field of commissioning of credit housing through housing savings system, construction of engineering infrastructure, Uskenbayev informed about the measures taken to implement the President's instructions - to increase the volume of the annual rental housing to 1.0 million square meters by 2016, and about the measures to achieve the volume of construction of10 million square meters under the program "Affordable Housing 2020".
The meeting also heard Chairman of JSC "Housing Construction Savings Bank of Kazakhstan" A.Zhumagulov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC "Kazakhstan Housing Construction Corporation" R.Khusainov, Chairman of "Samruk -Kazyna" Real Estate Fund B.Palymbetov.
Vice Minister of Industry and New Technologies N.Sauranbayev reported on the implementation of projects of house-building factories.
Governors of Mangystau region A.Aidarbayev, Karaganda region B.Abdishev, Pavlodar region E.Aryn, South Kazakhstan region A.Myrzakhmetov, Deputy Mayor of Astana S.Khoroshun also delivered their reports on the execution of the program " Affordable Housing 2020".
Summing up the meeting the Prime Minister drew attention of the Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning to "the unconditional allocation of funds for implementation of the program" and instructed the Ministry of Regional Development to monitor and control the timely disbursement of the budget funds. Regional governors, Almaty and Astana mayors were instructed to put into service the planned volume of housing.
Akhmetov also urged the Ministry of Regional Development, Ministry of Industry together with the governors of the regions to develop a program to provide full capacity of house-building factories. He also charged the governors to provide timely commissioning of individual housing.
