Kazakhstan to participate in CIS, CSTO Defense sessions in Moscow

ASTANA. June 2. KAZINFORM. The Council of Defense Ministers of the CIS and CSTO member states will hold regular sessions tomorrow in Moscow. Kazakhstan?s delegation headed by Defense Minister Daniyal Akhmetov will participate in the sessions.

The delegations of the CIS defense ministries will discuss the issues of interaction and prospects of military integration. Over 20 issues are on the agenda. The results of the activity of the CIS Defense Ministers? Council over 2008 will be summed up. Besides, the action plan on military integration development for 2009-2010 will be discussed. Special attention will be paid to the issues of improvement of the air defense integrated system and flights safety in the armed forces. More than 15 issues will be considered at the sitting of the Defense Ministers? Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. The sides will discuss the progress of implementation of the CSTO Coalition Military Building Plan, improvement of operational and battle training of the armed forces as well upgrading of the means of the CSTO collective security system.
