Kazakhstan to open embassies in Mexico, South Africa and Ethiopia - Kazakh foreign office
ASTANA . December 19. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan will soon open its embassies in Mexico, South Africa and Ethiopia, according to Foreign Minister Erlan Idrissov.
"Just a few weeks ago, President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed the Decree on opening our embassy in the Republic of South Africa (RSA) and next year, we plan to open an embassy in Ethiopia. We also plan to open an embassy of Kazakhstan in Mexico - one of the leading countries in the region, "- E.Idrissov said at a briefing at the Central Communications Service in Astana.
The foreign minister explained the country's decision. "Choosing South Africa, we were guided by the region's significant economic and political relevance. This country is a member of the BRICS, G- 20. Ethiopia is of interest not only as an emerging regional power, but as the political capital of Africa," - said the foreign office's head.
