Kazakhstan to launch nationwide dombyra challenge as part of Nauryz celebrations
The second edition of the nationwide dombyra players’ challenge is set to be launched across Kazakhstan on March 20, Kazinform News Agency cites the press service of the Ministry of Enlightenment of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Launched for the first time last year in all educational institutions countrywide, the challenge is timed to the Nauryz celebrations and is called to popularize dombyra and the Kazakh musical art.
All willing to participate – school students, youth, teachers and parents – are welcome to join this unique event, says director of the ministry’s educational work and extracurricular education department Meuert Medetbekova.
Nauryz celebrations in all educational institutions across Kazakhstan are expected to be held on March 14-23. Along with the dombyra challenge, other challenges, a nationwide ecological campaign and national games competitions will be held.
