Kazakhstan to join OECD Supervising Committee for Central Asia

BRUSSELS. June, 21. KAZINFORM /Dimash Syzdykov/ Kazakhstan will become a full-fledged member of the OECD Supervising Committee for Central Asia.

Such agreement was reached at the meeting of RK Vice Prime Minister Yerbol Orynbaev with Richard A. Boucher, Deputy Secretary-General of the OECD in Paris within the ministerial conference under the OECD aegis on Outside the Financial Crisis: Policy on Support and Development of Competitiveness in Central Asia, Kazinform refers to the press service of the Kazakh Embassy in France.

As earlier reported, at the meeting Y. Orynbayev drew the participants' attention to the priorities and major results of Kazakhstan's economic development, its policy and measures on creation of favorable climate for foreign investors as well as the key economic sectors of Kazakhstan which can be developed under the OECD support.

At the meeting with Richard A. Boucher the parties entered into an agreement on further development of the OECD-Kazakhstan cooperation. Kazakhstan's accession to the OECD, establishment of fruitful interaction within the Organization's Investments Committee and the Committee on Trade and Agriculture were discussed as well.
