Kazakhstan to host regular meeting of SCO Ministers of Culture in 2011
BEIJING. March 29. KAZINFORM /Ruslan Suleimenov/ Last Saturday the city of Sanya (Hainan Province, China) hosted the VII conference of the Ministers of Culture of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization following which a protocol was signed and a joint communiqué was adopted.
The participants focused on the urgent issues and prospects of cooperation within the Organization and took a decision to hold the I Forum on development of cooperation in culture in China in the second half of 2010.
The conference was attended by the representatives of the ministries of culture of Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India, Iran, Mongolia, Pakistan and the SCO Secretariat.
As is known, the first conference of the SCO Ministers of Culture took place in Beijing in 2002. Since 2005 the conference has been held annually in the SCO member states. In 2011 Kazakhstan will host a regular meeting of the SCO Ministers of Culture.
