Kazakhstan to hold 16-hour online marathon on Qurultay election day
On the day of Kazakhstan’s first-ever Qurultay elections, a large-scale national online marathon will be broadcast with the support of Qazaqstan Republican TV and Radio Corporation. The live stream will run from 09:00 am to 00:30 am, Qazinform News Agency reports.
Public figures, experts, bloggers, athletes, and cultural leaders will discuss pressing social issues and share opinions.
TouchScreen panels will display real-time statistics and Kazakhstan’s positions in international rankings.
Live reports every two hours from correspondents will cover overseas voting in the Qurultay elections.
Representatives of the Central Election Commission and international observers will provide official updates on the progress of the election campaign.
The discussion zone will feature debates on political, socio-economic, historical and cultural topics, as well as short interviews and commentary.
The online marathon will also feature direct live connections from Astana, Almaty, and Shymkent, showcasing city life, interviews, and local stories.
It will be broadcast across official websites and social media of national and regional media outlets.
Updates and key information will also be shared via the Telegram channel Online Marathon — 2026.
To note, the Qurultay elections are scheduled for August 23, 2026. Voting will officially begin at 7:00 am on August 23, but 107 polling stations are scheduled to open one hour earlier, at 6:00 am.
