ASTANA. September 30. KAZINFORM Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmetov believes the process of urbanization should be manageable.
In an exclusive interview to KTK TV channel Mr. Akhmetov said: "The number of rural dwellers is declining from year to year. Over the last couple of years Kazakhstan has seen rise in labor productivity. More people are moving into towns and cities. The regional centers are developing, new enterprises and manufacturers are being created. This is a normal process."
In his words, Kazakhstan may form up to 5-6 megapolises that will be the main economic centers.
