Kazakhstan to expand its presence in Latin America and Africa, Idrissov
ALMATY. KAZINFORM "The country's new foreign policy concept implies strengthening of ongoing cooperation and tuning up of new ties in the Latin America and Africa," Kazakh Foreign Minister Erlan Idrissov told at today's roundtable in Almaty.
"The concept provides for entering new regions. First of all, I mean the Latin America and Africa. Kazakhstan has gained momentum, we have changed, and that's why we are trying to find out new opportunities. The country's foreign policy expands its geography. This year we will open an embassy in Mexico, the Caribbean basin and Latin America will become closer to us. Kazakhstan expands its presence in Brazil," he added. "Last year we opened the embassy in the South Africa, this year we will establish an embassy in Ethiopia. Besides, the country's embassy is working in Egypt," he went on. Idrissov stressed that Kazakhstan will build up its Asian vector because the global development vector shifts to the Asia-Pacific Region.
