Kazakhstan to draft Astana and Almaty agglomeration plans until 2030

ASTANA. January 23. KAZINFORM "Long-term plans in order to develop agglomerations in the cities of Astana and Almaty until 2030 will be elaborated by the year-end," 1st Vice Premier of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev said.
According to him, the Government set up the Astana and Almaty agglomerations development commission, adopted inter-regional action plans to have those agglomerations developed until 2020. Besides, the Government is expected to work out a package plan on the development of little towns and villages as part of the zone of mega-cities.
