Kazakhstan to create procedural mechanism against online casino illegal activities

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan plans to create a procedural mechanism against online casino illegal activities, this has been said by the chairman of the Agency for Sports and Physical Education Tastanbek Esentayev at the Majilis during the presentation of the draft law "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of Kazakhstan on issues of gambling".

According to the bill, the Civil Procedure Code has been added with the procedural mechanism against online casino illegal activities.

Chairman of the agency cited statistics. As of 2014, 76 licenses were granted to gambling business including casino - 17, slot halls - 10, bookmaker's offices - 37 and betting terminals - 12.

To date, there are 13 casinos, 8 slot halls, 37 bookmaker's offices and 1 tote. Casino and slot machines' market in Kazakhstan is about KZT 150 billion per year (USD 810 million). Minimum turnover of the existing bookmaker's offices and betting terminals reaches KZT 30 billion per year.
