Kazakhstan to create all conditions for Turkish business - B. Kamaliyev

ASTANA. May 24. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ Kazakhstan will create all conditions for Turkish businessmen, Vice Minister of Industry and New Technologies Berik Kamaliyev said it Monday at a Kazakh-Turkish business forum.

"The current visit of President of Turkey Abdullah Gül to our country and the efforts of our President Nursultan Nazarbayev will open new opportunities for Turkish businessmen. We will provide all conditions for your activity in Kazakhstan", B. Kamaliyev noted.

On the instruction of Vice Premier-Minister of Industry and New Technologies Asset Issekeshev there will be established a working group for providing assistance in removing administrative barriers, he added.

B. Kamaliyev reminded that one of the primary tasks within Kazakhstan's forced industrialization program is creation of conditions for attraction of direct foreign investments in non-primary sectors of economy.

"Transfer of foreign technologies is the quickest and the most effective method of establishment of productions therefore we are interested in experience of foreign countries including Turkey", Kamaliyev noted.

"Establishment of the Customs Union of Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus with the population of about 170 mln people will open new horizons for our businessmen, to my mind, Turkish businessmen can join this large market too", the Vice Minister added.

Over 300 Kazakh, Turkish companies specializing in construction, agriculture, food industry, engineering, textile, stockbreeding, shipbuilding and petrochemistry are participating in the current forum.

As earlier reported, President of Turkey Abdullah Gül arrived in Kazakhstan with an official visit last Sunday.

According to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, more than 100 joint enterprises are functioning in the country at present. Foreign trade turnover of Kazakhstan and Turkey in 2009 made USD 1.4 bln, including USD 791, 8 mln of export and USD 570.9 mln of import.
