Kazakhstan to continue partnership against threats and challenges, Senator Tokayev
ANA. June 26. KAZINFORM /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ - It is necessary to activate the international security efforts in Central Asia for a long-term perspective, Senate Chairman Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev stated addressing the 71st semninar of the NATO PA in Astana.
"Strong reliable relations which are being built in the region are one the main priorities of our country, as it was predetermined by the interweaving of political, commercial, economic and cultural interests", - he said. He also noted "the closer and more active the development of cooperation is, the stronger the international positions of the countries will be".
Mr. Tokayev also reminded that one of tools of building regional security is the Conference on Interaction and Confidence building measures in Asia (CICA). "Today the CICA is an important factor of modern international relations. Such organizations as the SCO and CSTO have proved their importance having created a strong basis of stability and cooperation in the region", - the senator said. He assured that Kazakhstan will continue the partnership in the fight against new threats and challenges.
