Kazakhstan to construct aluminum smelter

"Our industrialization should follow the path of the processing of raw materials, which we have. You are a pioneer of such processing. Together with the government you need to work on the construction of a second plant for another 250,000 tons of aluminum. I hope that in future reports we will witness the commissioning of such enterprises ", Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said at a teleconference dedicated to the Day of Industrialization.

Earlier, president of "Kazakhstan Electrolysis Plant" JSC Almas Ibrahimov said at a teleconference that in accordance with the president's order, an aluminum smelter with capacity of 250,000 tons per year was constructed in a short period, Kazinform refers to trend.az.

"Around $300 million was invested in this large-scale project. Some 136,000 baked anodes will be produced there per year," the company's head said.
