Kazakhstan to compete in 8 nominations at 1st CIS Children's Delphic Games in Bishkek

The First Open Children’s Delphic Games of the CIS member states kicked off in the capital of Kyrgyzstan on October 1, Kazinform News Agency reports.

More than 500 talented children aged 7-14 are taking part for the first time in the event.

“The programme of the Games includes competitions in 11 nominations of folk, classical and modern arts divided into a festival and a competitive program,” Kuralay Tuspekova, Director of the National Delphic Committee of Kazakhstan, says.

29 solo performers and two creative teams will represent Kazakhstan in eight nominations - sign, folk and pop singing, decorative and applied art, piano, violin, folk dance and folk musical instruments.

“A big victory and a great joy for the National Delphic Committee of Kazakhstan was the inclusion of a new nomination - sign singing – into the current season of the Delphic Games. This nomination was initiated by the National Delphic Committee of Kazakhstan and was introduced in our country in 2016. It is gratifying that today the achievements of young talents with special needs can be observed in all countries participating in the Delphic movement,” Kuralay Tuspekova says.

She emphasized that the goal and the objectives of the Delphic Games are to identify and support talented individuals, to promote, preserve and develop national cultures, encourage the intercultural dialogue and strengthen ties between the countries, to boost cooperation between youth and children, intellectuals and educational institutions of the CIS countries in the humanitarian sphere, to promote professional growth of young talents, as well as to develop event tourism and creative industry.
