Kazakhstan to build stadium and sports complex in Aktobe
According to the akim of the Aktobe region, Askhat Shakharov, a construction of a new stadium is scheduled to commence in Aktobe next spring. Concurrently, the erection of a multifunctional sports complex for team sports is planned, Kazinform News Agency reports.
“The initial plan was to have a capacity of 30,000 seats, but 35,000 allows us to hold international matches. All the standards were agreed in advance with the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) representatives, and rough design was prepared. The next stage is to accept the design and estimate documentation. We will start preparatory ground works this year, and construction is planned for next spring," Shakharov stated.
Regarding the second facility, the multi-functional sports complex, the governor of the region announced that construction will commence in the vicinity of the new stadium.
“The arena will have a seating capacity of 5,000 and will be primarily utilized for team sports, concerts, and other forms of entertainment. This will undoubtedly provide a significant boost to the development of sports activities. In general, the fans deserve a modern stadium because, regardless of the team's status, they demonstrate unwavering support for FC Aktobe. One of the key objectives is to facilitate the growth of soccer at the national level. It is essential that we meet all the required standards and be fully prepared to host not only domestic matches, but also international-level events. The goal for Kazakhstan is ambitious. It is also worth noting that the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, has placed a significant emphasis on the development of sports. Given that, I consider the construction of a new stadium as a direct instruction to create a modern sports infrastructure in the region. At the same time, we are pleased to see such plans being implemented in other regions of Kazakhstan. We are working towards a common goal," the akim stressed.
In conclusion, he went on to share a promising news. The long-awaited "Football Academy" with an indoor arena will be inaugurated in August. This facility will serve as an invaluable source for fostering the growth of youth soccer and will enable local students to engage in comprehensive training throughout the winter season.
