Kazakhstan to build scientific educational centers of excellence in regions
At today’s Government meeting, the Kazakh Science and Higher Education Minister, Sayasat Nurbek, breiefed on strengthening of the country’s scientific infrastructure, Kazinform News Agency reports.
He said tenders were invited for funding special scientific programs in partnership with enterprises to create tech parks and engineering centers with modern laboratories at the grounds of universities.
The Minister noted the first four programs were launched at the largest national universities of Kazakhstan in 2023. As a result, 10 laboratories, five spinoff workshops and three startups were opened. 14 agreements worth 468 million tenge were concluded with private organizations, up to 788.9 million tenge were attracted in private investments.
Five programs were launched to set up scientific educational centers of excellence in regions in 2024-2026. It is planned to implement 17 programs at large. The key goal is to create the infrastructure for training, testing of scientific research results, certification of high technology products, and conditions for the development of innovation projects at enterprises.
As written before, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan will sign 17 agreements in higher education.
